I'm passing this along from another TMP member, who writes: I thought the addition of a "Historical Battlefields" forum in the "General Boards" would be a nice addition. This could be a place where people could post pictures of battlefields they have been to, ask for directions/ tour info, discuss tour books, etc.. all relating to preserved (or not so preserved) battlefields from all ages. |

I dont think you can post pics to TMP? I would like to see a whole catagory for Historical battlefields broken down by era. Also include maps and battle layouts. VR

I like the idea, but I wonder how much overlap there is with, say, "travel"? I imagine a lot of TMP members travel to visit historical sites. Otoh, travel is in the Plus section, I believe? So it makes sense to have a board for travel that is specifically aimed at historical places. |

Not to put to fine an edge on this but I think a single board for Battlefields is fine. I mean how could you go to a fantasy battlefield? Well you could go to a movie set I guess and take some pictures. "Battlefields" in the plus section would work. This would probably turn into a "I went there" instead of "Is there any place in…." travel boards. |

A suggestion: 1. Call it "Travel and Historic Sites" (Not just battlefields). 2. Move it back into General ok, that's two suggestions… |

Yeah, this seems like if you cross post it between travel and the era of the battle you should be in good shape. So if it is an ACW battlesite you post to travel and to ACW discussion or whatever. If it is a 40K battlefield you post it to travel and Sci-fi. |

Y E S ! I think put them under the already catagories. ACW, Ancients, Napoleonics, WWI, WWII etc!
TMP is getting so big IT can not affort to sort stuff out more. You can search the entire site but it would be wonderful to search within set groups of boards (ACW) or individual boards. Baring that the general discussion board for each topic would be the second option IMHO. VR
