Dear Mr Armintrout. We the undersigned ask that you start a Board or set of Boards for Campaigning, Map games and Kreigspiel. The purpose of these boards would be to cover Strategic gaming, and other such 'off table' games and other such non-face to face games. Thank you Last Hussar. To show your support please leave a post below. |

Campaigning, Map games and Kreigspiel Kind of a long name for a board, isn't it? Would this be a 19th Century board? |

I thought 'Campaigning Boards', to sit at the bottom of the list of periods. The "Campaigning, Map games and Kreigspiel" is a description. Though Kreigspiel is 19th Century, I envisioned the boards being period indepenent, as it would cover 'Hyboria' style games, Kreigspiel, games played by radio, and also naval- much of naval combat isn't about the fight, but about finding the opponent, and bringing him to battle. It could be argued that map games for Napoleonic and Modern have more to do with each other than the respective peroid boards- the problems lay in command and control, not weapon usage; you rely on the subordinate units to get that right. The man difference is that of speed and scale, not high level tactics. |

I'm in, but not really 19th Century. A good half of the Kriegsspiel war stories I have seen have been 20th, and some pre-20th. How about "Campaigns & Kriegsspiels" to broaden the net a bit? |

When I read the title, I thought Hussar was asking for a map board, ie, a board to talk about maps

board to talk about maps "They are never accurate enough for a general" That's about it! |

Lord knows I'm almost always fussing about too many boards but
I like this suggestion. |

sounds good to me. However, I do suggest the following: To add a board, another existing board must be eliminated. It would prevent proliferation. |

The political argument board was recently deleted. Hopefully that may leave space for a Map board. I wholeheartedly support the petition. |

Not my cuppa tea but it sounds like a good idea, so I'm happy to add my support. |

Isn't there already a map board? All you'd need to do would be to crosspost to the campaigns board and the 19th century board. |

This would be 'playing umpired games on a map'? If something like that then +5 votes from me |

A board devoted to Kriegsspiel and its derivatives gets my vote. |
