Can anyone recommend a book on the Prussian Army 1808-1815. I had a copy of the David Nash book which has gone AWOL and is now pretty rare. But are there any others that cover this period in the same or greater detail? I'm particularly after detail on the Landwehr and Reserve units that were covered so well in the Nash book. I've got the Ospreys but I'm really after something a bit more heavyweight. Of course if anyone has a spare Nash for sale

Have you had a chance to look at Peter Hofschroer's (sp?) Prussian Landweher and Landstrum 1813-1815? It seemed pretty good to me when I was paiting up my Prussian forces including the Reserves. I don't know if this is in print or not unfortunately. Erik |

It is also hard to come by,having been published over 25 years ago, but the pamphlet by W.J. Rawlings on the Prussian Army, has the same material as Nash. |

Thanks I should have thought of Nafziger and I'll look out for the Prussian Landweher and Landstrum 1813-1815. I searched for Rawlings but couldn't find anything but did come up with another similar name last night. Can't remember what it was now as I'm at not at home (I think it was Hawkings or similar). Either way thanks for the advice it pointed me in the right direction. |

Robert Mantle work on Prussian reservists is available online link As good if not better than anything available in print. Caliver Books had a copy of Nash on the update they sent through a few days ago. |
