looking for names and uniforms of firefighter orginizations I know the black joke company was involved in the new york draft riots..but not sure if any others were and what sort of colors they wore (I figure could go with the classic black and reds in a pinch). Was wondering if anyone knew of any other fire companies around with colorful uniforms and names. Also not so concerned with them being New York companies
Sure Chicago had some wild crews as well. |

Either the Virtual Armchair Geeral, or Brigade Games makes a few in their Gangs of New York ranges. I forget which, so I will leave the solution as an exercise for the student. |

I think Lon has some painted figures shown on his web site (Brigade Games), so you ought to be able to use those as a guide. I really can't remember whether or not Patrick's figures(TVAG) are shown painted but you could look and see. |

The Firefighters at the turn of the century wore red flannel shirts and black "duck" pants. this might have been paired with a black canvas/cotton coat. |
