Howdy, I've been out of the 40K scene for a few years. I was wondering if GW ever produced a seprate shoulder pad that has studs all over it, like the old metal and plastic beaky armor had. Also, has there ever been a terminator honor shoulder pad? Thanks! |

No on studded shoulder pads, yes on terminator honor ones (in both pewter and plastic). |

I remember some for Ultra Marines about 10 years ago. |

Hmm, thanks for the info
Also, I feel like I saw a competitor, that is to say non-GW company, that made a bunch of different shoulder pads as well. Anyone recall the company? |

There is a single spikey shoulder pad included for each of the new plastic squads – so two per box of 10 figures. I'm pretty sure that TheWarStore.com sells bags of the spikey shoulder pads as loose parts. Same goes for the beaked helmet. |

Black Ork games does the shoulder pads you're thinking of. link |

Yes to both, in the newer plastic sets. Definitely Terminator Honors in the command squad plastic box and the studded ones in the tactical squad box. |

The greatest shoulder pad mystery I know of is the lack of one with normal tactical squad markings. |

They've definitely done metal terminator honours pads, I've got a bunch of them. The only studded pads I know of are the original RT ones and the later plastic ones that CATenWolde mentioned – no metal ones, so far as I'm aaware. blackscribe, I'm confused by your comment about a lack of tactical markings. What's wrong with the tactical pads shown on this page? link |

PS – that link also shows the terminator honours pads! |

*None* of those are the standard codex tactical marking. It's a filled-in arrow. That way you can put the squad number on it. |

Isn't tactical pad 1 a solid double-headed arrow? There used to be a third variant available, I can't remember how that looked. They've definitely done at least one version with a solid arrow, either vertical or a horizontal double-headed arrow. Forgive me if I don't know what the 'standard' codex marking is these days – I've been with 40k since Rogue Trader, and the 'standard' has changed many times since then! |

The double-headed arrow is the type used by the Dark Angels. There is indeed a filled-in one of those. However, the most common type of pad in the Imperium (Codex tactical) is not one of the ones available. |
