From Flower to Sapling?

I have placed orders with several distributors of the Wargames Accessories metal bases and they have been on backorder for 2 or 3 weeks so far. I cannot find 1-inch square metal bases anywhere. Is there some reason for this apparent shortage of metal bases? Does anyone know where I can get some ASAP. I have many projects on hold for lack of a simple commodity 1-inch square metal base.

PS: I have found contacting Wargame Accessories directly to be a fruitless expercise as they never return calls or messages.

Wargames Accessories has frequently dropped the ball with my orders. I understand 2-3 days to respond, but 2-3 weeks? And their webstore seems to be perpetually broken.

Did you try Scale Creep?

That may be the issue, then. Possibly no one is having any luck contacting them?

I've had very mixed luck with the. Sometimes they ship immediately and have stock. Sometimes not.

At one point it looked like two guys were running the business and had some hand-off problems.

Anyhow, a good product and one of the better prices. I'd email or call again before I give up.

Something here maybe of use to you.

I'll have to see about doing a plain base in the near future.

I get orders from Jeff pretty quickly. I'm surprised to hear there is a problem.

Jim,

Litko makes a flexible steel base ( litkoaero.com/page/LAI/FS ) but you'd have to have your troops mounted on something else (such as a thin card base or one of their thin wood bases) and then stick the flex steel base to it.

That's what I've done for my SYW artillerists:

I think wargames has a bunch in stock. Npt sure specifically about the 1" square, but they have a blue bazillion packages of the wargames accessoires bases.

Thank you everyone for all the help (Pictors, Extra Crispy, Nancy and others). I just ordered the seven from Wargames LLC a few minutes ago. I should be OK now. The Jacobite Rebellion can now continue. Again, thank you to the TMP community for such quick responses and offers of help.

Glad you found what you were looking for – next time go direct with Litko – Ken will make sure you get what you need ASAP – they do metal, magnetic, and wood bases along with plastic bases and templates too – and their service is impressive – order to delivery time about 5 days in my case!
