As I've mentioned before I've been thinking about doing a campy Noise Marine army that features a giant nude/scantily clad demoness wailing on a guitar as a center piece. I've been having problems finding an appropriately-sized figure that I was happy with (and at a price I could live with).

I recently came across the Dorothy figure from McFarlane's "Twisted Land of Oz" line, and am considering using it as a greater daemon of Slaanesh. The bit that sticks in my craw, though is that the 12" figure is more readily available and if you look can be picked up for the same price as the 6" "thong" version is going for on ebay (which is the only place I've found it, and 6" seems to be about the max height for greater daemons).

Merely a ploy to sell you more GW plastics. Unless your planning to go tournament with the model, why should it matter??

I've seen that Dorothy too, a trifle risque' but a piece just packed full of character!

That would be cool. I use Reaper's Sophie figures for greater/exalted demons. Scantily clad, wings, works for me.

Josh. I have that figure. :P The small one, plus the little creeps she comes with…..

Hmm. Judging by Nasty Dr Perverticus' reply I'm presuming the deleted post contained something along the lines of asking why I don't just buy the GW Keeper of Secrets?

Mainly because I'm indifferent to both the upcoming GW version, or the more expensive Forge World version. I have a specific concept in mind that involves a camp/heavy metal/rock video aethetic. Neither of those really fit with that.

Dorothy isn't quite what I wanted, but she's closer than either of those. She's also a bit cheaper than either of the official models. Which when taken as a whole makes me more likely to use her than a "proper" Keeper of Secrets. Were I doing a more traditional force I'd take a longer look at the GW offerings.

slobberblood: You're the devil aren't you? You're the devil, and you sit around TMP waiting for me to post about wanting something, at which point you materialize it for the purposes of taunting me. :p

LOL! yup…. yes I am…..

*drmatically shakes fist at slobberblood*

k mcchutney – Something like a giant version of Sophie with a guitar was what I originally had in mind.

Have you looked at the Joe Lisner "Dawn" action figure?

(FYI: The original figure (Green clothes, the first link)
features a clear plastic bodice as a seperate piece.)
Add a McFarlane 'Kiss' action figure Guitar, and you're golden-

Thanks for the link, Volstagg. I might have to try to get my hands on one of those.

You know, don't you, that girls like that aren't actually 'Keepers of Secrets'?

Sure they SAY they are, but then they turn up wanting money, with an envelope full of polaroids…

jbenton15 May 2008 2:53 p.m. PST

Can't say as I've ever had that particular problem.

I'll never in my life figure out why anyone would want to waste money on this crap, other than some prepubescent boy of particularly demented nature who was trying to make up forthe fact that he never had, and never would, touch a real woman.

Just my thoughts. evil grin

That Dorothy figure is … something else … hmmm … wow.

You're pretty much hit on almost exactly what the theme for my Chaos/Noise Marines idea is. It is every 'eavy metal, campy, goofy, improbably busty game artwork idea from my teenage years all rolled into one.

blackscribe16 May 2008 7:14 a.m. PST

Mephistopheles, I get them because my wife likes them.

RobH16 May 2008 4:04 p.m. PST

Those McFarlane figures should be done in 28mm, superb characters.
