Now that I am finishing my last four Irish republicans from the Musketeer range, I have the intention to try my brushes with these minis afterwards.

I have a question. I noticed you painted Sharpe's backpack straps in white, when I was under the impression that Rifles had black leathered equipment. Am I wrong and officers had white equipment?

Thanks in advance.

No, you are not wrong… but according to Cornwell, Sharpe carried a captured/liberated/looted/stolen/otherwise acquired French backpack. ;-)

Ooops! I forgot that part!… Thanks.

I just received my Sharpe figure yesterday and I had to do a double take on Sharpe's backpack, until I realized what it was. You will also note that he is wearing cavalry pants, liberated from the French colonel in Sharpe's Rifles.

The figures were primed last night – they are ready for painting this evening.

BTW: should I paint Sharpe with fair/blond hair in the manner of Sean Bean or black as depicted on the cover jacket of some of the books?

My plates on the 95th in the Osprey New Orleans book show the officer in such trousers, grey with brown leather inseam with scalloped edge.

Hair color? What do you paint best, black or blond?
