"It's like a second skin," he later told reporters. "If I turn to the left, I fly left. If I nudge to the right, I go right."

Heaven forbid he should sneeze.

sometime ago, thinking about how many gadgets you could make today for a superhero, I found this:

Astounding. Someone actually did it. One question- how do you land?

mattblackgod15 May 2008 7:36 a.m. PST

Thats cool. Maybe you wait until its out of fuel (or cut the motor) and glide?

You fold the wings, and open your parachute.

Watch the film on that link and they show the whole process. SAo far it's no good for superheroes because you a) have to jump out of a plane and b) have to parachute to the ground after taking a good deal of time to decelerate. I think the bad guys would either be long gone by then or would shoot you full of holes. 8)=

This is even better. Heinlein would be proud

OTOH, if you're nigh-invulnerable already, that isn't as much of a problem, and "accelerated" landings won't hurt nearly so much. I think the Tick might buy one, since Arthur refuses to loan him his wings…

"That's not flying! It's falling… with style!" --- Sheriff Woody.

(Actually, it looks like flying to me. But it also looks surprisingly like Buzz Lightyear's flight pack, so I couldn't resist the quote!)

you DID see the bit about the 'flying car'…AGAIN…in the same tech news…didn't YOU???

*slish?

I've just seen the flight footage of this on the news. I can't think of anything which looks more dangerous! Still, if that is what it takes to be a superhero….
