I was researching shopping carts online and stumbled across this: link I must admit, my wife would kill me if I tried to put one in the living room, but an Alamo battle tucked into a coffee table in my office? That just might fly with her! So, has anyone thought (or done) of doing this in their home? With a suitable battle scene, of course. |

I saw something similar a few years ago. It had a glass top and three trays/drawers. One could have three different arrangements that could be interchanged at will. I presented my thoughts of expanding out of the basement to management. I'm still in the basement but I am authorized one curio on the main floor. |

I just don't think this is going to work as a shopping cart for the local grocery or your website
it's got no wheels! And why would your wife want you to park a shopping cart in your living room? And, isn't it a lot of trouble to try to drum up business by hauling a diorama down to the store when you go to buy milk? I don't get it. |

I have a display coffee table in my game room, right now it has my NSL and FSE Full Thrust fleets squaring off against each other
It looks something like this

I like my stuff. I have no desire to give up half of it. So I have no intention of even thinking about bringing such an idea up to Her Who Must Be Obeyed. I'm quite happy with the one closet I get. Getting greedy has severe consequences. |

My wife WANTS to put some of my stuff in the living room. Trouble is, she already loves the coffee table we've got. She has suggested shadow boxes, glassed over, so she doesn't have to dust

This is almost exactly what Michael & I have been looking for for absolute ages. There was one we saw around 10 years ago that had a series of drawers; it was more like a museum display table. Kinda like the one in jfleisher's link, only with more drawers and a less 'rustic' look. |

there is a glass top table at IKEA with 4 compartments in the drawer. I have always thought that it would be a great addition to the living room and a place to display some of my figs. However she who must be obeyed would not go for figs in the living room. I do like the put in office idea. If only there was room. |

Okay
here's how this ties into shopping carts. I was looking at various online shopping cart software and the Bakertronics site was listed in their gallery of people who use that particular software. Hnoest! |

I dig that, but I don't think I could stand having a game set up that I couldn't play! Groovy idea though. |

I've been tempted by something like that for a long time. |

Ya but I don't see a price anywhere on their site
maybe because it's too scary. |
