Some of the long-time gamers might recall a semi-regular feature at GenCon during the '70's & '80's. It was a divisional-sized WW2 game using 1/87 scale Roco models. Usually American and German, I believe.

While I never made it to that convention during that period, I have certainly heard a fair amount about it.

Now, it turns out, that I know the gentleman who did it. He'd like to trot it out again but he's been a bit out of touch with the gaming scene for the past decade or so and doesn't know where it might be welcome. He's also lamenting the lack of wargamers in central Alabama as well, but that's a different story.

So, any suggestions? Is there even an interest?

"Heat of Battle" at the WWII Museum in August in New Orleans.

Reachable from central Alabama, WWII fans to reconnect with.

Plus, I'll be there grin

Back to GenCon.
I hear Origins is also very good, but I haven't been there in many years.

Historicon a gimme, really, even if it is a heck of a drive for him. Or barring that Southern Front in Raleigh, NC might be more to his liking. Plenty of dedicated gamers there!

I'd second Nashcon over Memorial Day Weekend. I'm in Huntsville, AL. We've got a small but growing group up here, any way to put us in touch?

Kublacon (also Memorial Day) would love to have it too.
kublacon.com Maybe next year…

Yep, Nashcon would be a good site. If he coordinates early for next year, we can probibly get him one of the smaller convention space rooms completely devoted to the game. All really depends on how much table space he needs to determine if we need to make any special arrangements.
Another possibility is Siege of Augusta and Bayou Wars.

Please come to Historicon and/or Fall-in in Pennsylvania. I know it's a long drive, but you would have a huge audience. Also, I met gamers from the South there so perhaps you could carpool north :-D

Bring it to Origins! We have the space, the venue, and 10,000 gamers!
