Guys - I'm in the process of painting up some 1/144 He-111s, Ju-88s, and Stukas for a Battle of Britian scenario. I would like to know what brand paint, number and if you sprayed or hand painted the green and green/black camo on these bombers? Also, did you use masking tape to put the green/black over the green? Thanks, :-) kwk |

Hi I don't believe 02 is used on bombers in this period. You can tell from photos in that the emulsion sees into the ultraviolet, thus "02" LOOKs "motheaten" on film. Patchy. As the usual photos show uniform dark, or only slight contrast, it is 70/71 on top for bombers. Oh, and I use a huge stock of saved "oldstyle" humbrol. Rocky |

for camo etc, here are some good sites: try these sites: users.hol.gr/~nowi (under "Luftwaffe" see "Camouflage") wp.scn.ru (Look for WWII bombers) |

70/71/65 is what I've seen for BoB German period for bombers, according to the Monogram Paining Guide to German A/C. O2 was seen as part of the mottle on the He-177 and other A/C where some mottling was applied |

MH – Alios – Dave – Thanks guys for the charts & painting guide info. Great info and "Luftwaffe Colors" looks like a good book to get. Rocky, is that some of the old Humbrol you used to use on the M&M planes we used to fly at NASHCON way back when? Dave, how do you apply the liquid masking? Does everyone can spray? Airbrush? or hand paint? |
