A little out of period but I have acquired the Postage Stamp B26 model and want to re-paint this as in service in Indo China with the French in 1953. Anyone know what colours they would have been painted? Thanks Alan

Look in the selected back issues for Volume 3 Issue 1 March 1998 COIN: French Counterinsurgency Aircraft

Just make sure you have the right model. In 1947, the brnad spanking new US Air Force, having retired the B-26 Marauder, decided to simplify their designation system, eliminating the now useless 'A for Attack' class (since they would never have to waste their time supporting the ground-pounders again). this resulted in the A-26 Invader being redesignated B-26. The latter is the aircraft the French used in SE Asia, though they had used Marauders during WW2.

Thanks for all this information. Yes the model is correct for the period. Regards Alan
