Just wondering if poeple who have these already wheteher or not it wouod be easy to convert to Plains War cav?……can the sabre scabbards easily be removed and how many come with pistols?……

On each sprue of 4 horses and men there are two hands holding revolvers, so half. The revolvers are cap and ball but only a real pedant would be able to tell the difference at this scale (oops!). The saber scabbards do follow the line of the leg so could be removed easily with a craft knife. Each comes with a cavalry carbine.

As for their suitability, I reckon they are certainly good enough. They don't have scarves to paint yellow (like they do in the movies) but if you paint them up, I reckon they'll look the part just fine.

They will do nicely up to the 1870's. There was a lot of Civil War surplus issued to the troops. The infantry only needs an amo belt conversion with some greenstuff and a few scarves for colour.

Agree – look like they would be just fine – as noted, the US Army was not very generous with new equipment after the Civil War – my great-grandpa was part of the Home Guard homesteading the West and his equipment issue was the Springfield rifle-musket he had used in the 4th Minnesota

Will the horses convert to regular Old West Gaming?
