On a lark I've been reading "The Last Days of Krypton." I'm curious as to if there are any figs that people think would make good Kryptonians? 28mm is my usual scale, but I'd be willing to take a look at others.

I'm also interested in various Kryptonian fauna. Here's a description of hrakkas:

"Teams of hrakkas – brawny, short-legged lizards with jagged head crests – plodded forward, three tethered to each floating vehicle. The green-and-tan creatures strained in their yokes as each team hauled its chariot out into the open. The scaley hides bore the marks of noble family sponsors."

And of some nastier variations used by Dru-Zod's team:

"The mute (Nam-ek, not Zod) had tamed black-skinned lizards from Krypton's wild southern continent. Adorned with horns and spines along their bodies, ebony scales, and scarlet heard crests, these were feral creatures accustomed to hunting and gutting their own prey."

I'm morbidly curious as to whether the book mentions any of these fine bits of Silver Age lunacy:

To paraphrase, On second thought, let's not go to Krypton. 'Tis a silly place.

Not as of yet, though I'm not that far into it. It's not bad so far, not great, but at least not bad.

I just thought that Kryptonians might make an interesting and unusual force to put on the table.

Those Away team 'not-Trek' figures recently advertised on sale could be modified up as Kryptonians I should think: addd some capes & such-

…can't remember who makes 'em though, sorry.

There is mention of a drang in the Kandor zoo. It's savagely killed and eaten.

GW skinks could be used for hrakkas. Im not familiar with the book you reference so can be of no help on the other figures.

At least the way I read the description the skinks wouldn't really work even with heavy conversion, they're too humanoid. The salamanders seem pretty close, but rather expensive. Maybe I should try plastic dinosaurs and greenstuff, though that's probably a receipe for disaster.
