I was looking for something completely different and stumbled across Antenociti's Workshop – and decided that I really "need" to get some of their products. While I could probably buy their cammo netting, leaves and select other lightweight items directly, I fear the cost of shipping a bunker or two might outweigh the savings.

Are they available in the US?

Thanks,

Wyatt

I've have my eye on a bunch of his stuff, too. I don't think anyone in the U.S. carries it, but I'm hoping to be wrong.

(I've asked him for you)

I've ordered directly from them. The sevice was good and I think (it has been a while) they charged postage at cost (or even gave me a break on it).

Thanks Geoff. I suspect that there's probably enough stuff from UK vendors that I should probably try to order it all at once and have someone in the UK send it all in one package grin

Now, all it takes is for me to be able afford all of it.

Ok, here you go (reply from Jed at Antenociti):

"Good point, not yet… One of those things we need to investigate further this year."

He acknowledges that postage is a killer, especially as they use a recorded delivery service (we have International Signed For)

Thanks again, Geoff. It looks like I'll have to drop a line to one of my British contacts and have them do the shopping for me.

I think Castlekits.com at least has some of his building kits on license, although that may have changed.

You're operating under a false assumption, Wyatt. It will almost surely be *more* expensive to bundle a pile of stuff into one large shipment. The best shipping rates are using small packets.

It's a very rare case when it is not more economical to go direct to the UK source and pay the shipping. A US importer still has to pay the freight, often customs charges, and then price the items to make a profit (not to mention domestic shipping, as well as sales tax if applicable). It's a rare case that a US importer can offer a better deal than going direct--and where they can, it will often be because they have old stock acquired a t a favorable exchange rate, and they haven't adjusted the prices.

I realize that others may have jingoistic prejudices against ordering abroad, but you're smarter than that. Run the numbers, and I think you'll find that even shipping the bunkers, Antenociti can ship as reasnoably as having a thir party do it, onc you factor in all the costs.

Point taken, Allen. I usually order from Germany as I have resources that let me bypass DHL and save myself 35 Euro each time.

But, in this case, I'd probably be able to get away with under five quid for everything I wanted to order: A couple of the Denizen "Hikers" (the NOT Hitchhikers figures), some of Antenociti's leaves and cammo nets, and a couple of other random items.

Now, when I get to the bunkers, all bets are off.

The real problem is that I'm sending my son off to Europe for three weeks, and my daughter off to Australia for the same time period, and there's no way I could coordinate packages to arrive at their hotels (no idea where they're staying yet) in time for them to play "mule" and bring back leaden goodness.

Darn it.

By the way: I *haven't* been drinking, although you might think so from my spelling!

Oh, it should be noted (hijacking my own topic) that I've been fortunate enough to help some Germans and Brits get goodies from over here without having to go the mail route. Its getting to the point where its getting routine. I just sent a couple of trucks to Leeds this week and saved my friend about £10.00 GBP

I don't even want to think what that batch of 80 ECW figures I sent to Germany in March would've cost – probably €30.00 EUR As it is, it only cost my friend $8 USD for the two plastic storage containers and a beer.

Gotta love it.

I'm in the US and have ordered from them directly before with out any problems. Great looking stuff. I'll have to work up another order soon.

Shipping costs get horrendous when the parcel goes over 2kg.
