Hi Generals,

Does anybody have Hesse-Cassel troops for their AWI armies based for the Warfare in the Age of Reason Rules.

I want to use some Perry figures.

Perry offer Hesse-Cassel Grenadiers, Musketeer and Fusiliers troop types.

So my question is In the Age of Reason Rules units for 28 mm are pretty much 12 castings strong.

Do you have a mixture of all troop types in a 12 man unit, if so what proportion.

Or separate units of 12 grenadiers, 12 musketeer and 12 Fusiliers

Thanks in Advance

Cheers

AOR doesn't distinguish between different types of soldiers within a particular unit. So they would all be either musketeers/fusiliers or converged flank companies (grenadiers or lights all together in one unit).

Would you consider doubling the size of your AOR units to 24 figures? It looks much nicer that way and you simply use the same charts.

Always in separate units.

There weren't individual grenadier or fusilier companies attached as part of (musketeer) infantry regiments serving in the field. There were separate musketeer and fusilier regiments and both types of regiment had grenadier companies, but at the start of a war these were taken away from their parent musketeer or fusilier regiment and brigaded in all-grenadier grenadier batallions.

That's why the illustrations in the link here show four different uniforms for these combined grenadier btns:

There was also one unit that was an all-grenadier unit that served in America: Rall's that would also be an AOR 12-fig. unit all as grenadiers.

I have a load of Perrys AWI Hessians and have based them on 40mm square bases….I started with 4 to a base but to stretch my figures have just rebased them 3 to a base…They are lovely figures, especially the Jaegers……

Those Perry Jagers are some of the nicest figures that I've ever seen, especially the command figure resting one foot on a tree stump and one foot on the ground.
