Just picked up from my local Co-op. Never seen it before so thought I'd invest.

Great movie – shows a side of warfare not often portrayed – authentic feel of the Boer War too.

If Breaker Morant gets the juices stirring about this first modern conflict, I would suggest reading Thomas Pakenham "The Boer War" to get a very good overall understand of the conflict.

I will have a look this week for you if you wish, and if I find a copy I can mail it too you, a £1.00 GBP won't break the bank.

The movie was used as a training aid for discussion for law of war training when I was in the army (this was the 80s).

Breaker Morant is one of my favorite movies. Well acted and a great story.

Well I ran across "Castle Keep" at my local Big Lots this weekend for $3, so I'm not complaining.

"A View of Vultures" remains my definitive "experience" of the Boer War. How, btw, can the Boer War have a "good feel?"

Khazarmac12 May 2008 3:53 p.m. PST

Will look out for that film, I like it and haven't seen it in years. As an aside, I never realised the significance of the Kop to Liverpool football club till my Dad told me about Spion Kop.

And just found out a whole lot more too;

Great film. I do believe I'll dig it out and watch it this evening.
