We had a big game of 45 Adventures today, 3 players + GM on a table roughly 6x5 or so. A lot bigger than the usual Rattrap Games tables, but it went very well, helped along by a creative and experienced GM. A dozen or so pictures, starting here: link and going forward for the next 14 or so pictures. It was airship crew VS insane cultists VS mercenaries, with Neatherthals, cannibals, King Kong, a T. Rex, a rope bridge over a gorge, and a mysterious mountain all thrown in for good over-the-top measure! Each pic has more detail on the game – do check it out! |

Excellent looking pictures and all the great elements of a good pulp game. I like the names on the front of the bases. Very good idea. Rich |

The Cannibals are from the GW LOTR line. Some sort of Southerners. |

That looks a great game – I love the mountain and Red Cultists (the ONLY colour for them in my book). Having just purchased the rules due to the idea of a small board this table came as a bit of a shock. How do the rules stack up with jet packs being 10" – did you take a long time to close to combat or just increase the range / movement? On a lighter side – in the 'King Kong VS The Mercenaries' photo – dare I ask what the caveman is doing? Could he be scared ***** by the site of Kong :-) |

When Kong first was Summoned by the ritual of the Cultist, he appeared alarmingly close to the cultists who scampered down into their caves to hide. When Kong turned around to find new prey, it was the Neanderthal Village that caught his eye. At the time, the lead Mercenary was in negotiations with Shaman Ogaluk to get the 3 crates of Unobtainium that he was perched on. With the approach of Kong, the Mercs went the surprising route of rounding up the Neanderthals and trying to lead them to safety. Lim-Lim, being an adolescent, was moving a bit behind the others and he was also weighed down by a crate of Unobtainium so Kong's leaping charge resulted in both of Lim-Lim's legs being shattered. He became Double limbless Lim-Lim. The shrieking Neanderthal next to Kong is Unar, another adolescent, who was there to see the dismemberment of tribe member Lim-Lim, but survived long enough to ensure that there were Mercenaries between Kong and himself. Old tribal saying "You don't need to run faster than Kong, just faster than white men" Unar did manage to survive but became separated from the tribe. Eventually he was machine gunned by petulant cultists who were miffed at the death of the T-Rex which prevented them from completed the ritual to destroy the world. |

"Eventually he was machine gunned by petulant cultists who were miffed at the death of the T-Rex which prevented them from completed the ritual to destroy the world." It's lines like the above that make my love this hobby
Great photos, looks like it was a hoot. |

Andrew, we houseruled that you could double movement provided that all you do is move – so most characters could manage 10" per turn, some 12. That made the big table easier. That said, I really like the small-table focus of usual 45A games – 2x2 or 3x3 are perfect for skirmishing, and encourage small amounts of nice terrain. |
