I have tried to get Renegade to post a picture of their Numiaian/Punic Elephant and have been promised to no availe. Has anyone seen or bought this mistry beast? Does anyone out there have a photo that they would care to share? I was going to buy two but I shy away from buying sight unseen. Thanks |

Not seen him yet but Im painting some of their new WW2 stuff and have been asked for a shot at the Elephant as they are a specialty of mine so ill let you know as soon as it arrives. in their defense they are desperately busy with new lines etc so dont always respond immediately to emails but theyre good guys and its not deliberate Im sure. On the same subject, QRF do a nice 15mm armoured successor state ele but does anyone other than Old glory do a good 28mm one? I know of the Vendel ones and they are excellent but what else is out there? |

Tolcrothlogan, have a look at Jeff Jonas' Ancient Battles site, he has a good selection of painted 28mm Elephants. Simon |

I have the photo (it arrived this AM) and it will be on the website when I get home (Yahoo isn't letting me do uploads from work for some reason) Look for it in about 4 hours (6PM CST) |

Looks OKish; I wonder how tall it is. I like the elephant a lot more than the rider. Simon |

Renegade tell me they are 44mm to the shoulder, which is a pretty reasonable size for a North African nellie. I shall recruit a couple (they are six squid each in the sale; very reasonable). Simon |

This is neither a North African or Asian elephant, so I guess they it is a lost strain
however it looks more Asian in front. The mahout is simply 'goadacious'
. What do miniature sculptors smoke nowadays before doing their research? (Yes that hookah being smoked by the New Artizan Spartan aka homage to ZZ Top).. JeffJ |

Is it the head shape and lack of a saddle, Jeff? I could extend the ears a bit, and replace the mahout. I bought a couple of Essex Africans after our last chat, and have them on the painting bench. They are OK, but don't have the saddle back (because they share their rear end with the Essex Indian elephant). I want a couple more similar sized elephants to give me a bit of variety in terms of poses. Simon |
