G'day Christian,

Saw this on a page at the Kronoskaf site.

Is this a book that is out ? What does it cover ?

regards

Stephen

This sounds like the title of the book published by Caliver which is a compedium of the French and THEIR allies in the SYW. Modelled after Pengel and Hurt stuff, has some nice color pictures, a good reference book to have.

G'day Alte Fritz,
Had a look on their site "18th century, SYW", could not see it. Do I have the title correct ? or the right part of their site ? Sometimes I think my computer needs a labrador not a mouse !!

Thanks for your help.

Hi Stephen,

That title should refer to my paper – sort of a work in progress document. I have it as pdf for download in the file section of the syw yahoo discussion group

groups.yahoo.com/group/syw

It includes summeriy of employed forces, lots of orbats, some sketches. A lot is from primary source – mainly French archive at Paris. Including stuff not published anywhere else so far, to my knowledge. Most is tables. Will give you a rather detailed picture of the forces around. Campaigns 1757 through 1759 are covered as yet, as well as initial orbats for 1760 summer campaign.
More is to follow – sometime.

By the way – June 1759 Allied army organisation will also answer your query concerning battalion guns with Allied grenadiers.

Cheers,
Christian

Good onya Christian,

You have been a busy man, this is very good of you to have done all this. More printing and reading for winter.

By the way, I notice that the names of French brigade commanders is not available. Do you know why ?

Even the Hessians and co had names mentioned in some OOBs.

Thanks again

Stephen

Christian,

Oops, meant to say " not always available ".

Your information has given me some now though.

Stephen
