HI all, I have two sources that give two different answers for the 7YW Russian cuirassier breastplate?

The Osprey book on the Russian 7YW army (2) seem to imply they were silver (though the book has a couple of B&W shot at the front that seem to show them black?) but I have seen some pics online where they are black.

Any ideas which it is?

The Lace Wars shows black; but there are a mixture in these pictures from the NY Public Library collection:

Perhaps use "Steel" or "Iron" paint for them rather than a true silver (like the Osprey Chevalier Garde illustrations) or outright black?
