I would appreciate any input or help with selecting a set of rules for this scale. What are the choices and how do they play?

Baccus has a set of rules available for 6mm. You should check them out. I've got copies but never played them. They look interesting and have some unique play concepts.

Had a ton of fun playing Might & Reason.

Baccus has not released its SYW version of Polemos yet. I believe it is still in play test.

Might & Reason is a lot of fun with 6mm figs.

There's also the grand tactical Volley & Bayonet, that's coming out with a new edition (supposedly) soon:

I use Konig Krieg with the 6mm rules from Forlorn Hope. Each base is equal to 4 infantry or 3 cavalry figures. When you take hits, assuming its less than 4 or 3, you roll a d6 – if you roll less than the number of hits taken the stand is pulled, otherwise. It seems to work well and Konig Krieg is the best rules for the WSS/SYW. You may be able to find a copy of the 2nd ed, but I don't know where. 3rd edition is in the pipeline

Dugal m – So you're the culprit. IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT.
It was the images in the gallery on your "old blog" that finally decided me to have a go at 6mm.
Thanks to all for the rules suggestions. I have Koenig Krieg 2nd edition and will give this a try. I believe that the Polemos SYW rules will be out at the end of this year.
In the meantime can anyone give me info on Polemos base sizes.

Polemos uses 60mm x 30mm bases. In the WSS rules, each base is one battalion or so, for Napoleonics it is a battalion for the tactical game and two bases together are a brigade for the large scale one. I assume SYW will do deviate to far from either.

So, you cannot go wrong with 6 strips on in 2 ranks on a 60mm x 30mm, pairing them up if you want to play V&B, etc.

He, he, he.

Glad I could help. You had better look away when I announce my new AWI6mm project "Miniature Revolution" in the next few weeks!
