Paul Hicks deserves all the accolades he gets but sometimes in our rush to embrace the new we forget the old. I have many of the old FAA figures too and still marvel at the detail. I have never read who did those intial sculpts but they too are very nice figures. Does anybody know who did them and is he or she still active? And if he or she reads this site take a bow and bask in the fan mail.

I think the original sculpts were done by Paul Barnshaw, if they were done by Paul, then you are not likely to see anymore, as Paul sadly passed away a short while ago.
I do know that Aly Morrison reworked some of the models recently to extend the range.
The range is now sold by John Bruce at Force of Arms.
They are nice models, and they fit in well with the figures I produce for Anglian Minis. It was this range that got me started on 28mm SCW.

And it was you and Doc who revitalized me in this scale. I had never lost interest in the SCW but the lack of a complete lime had stopped my buying. Now you have me putting down the dollars when you round out what I need.

Question

I have some 1/43 scale T26s by XCM. What size are your vehicles? And how well would they match up with the T26s?

Yes, it was indeed Paul Barnshaw who did the original sculpts. I have loads of them and yes, Paul did indeed suddenly pass away 2-3 weeks ago. I shall miss him and his broad Yorkshire accent (there, I have corrected my hugely embarrassing mistake……I said Birmingham first…and I know better…….!! I'm sure he's rolling his eyes and swearing at me incoherently…)

Dashetal

My T26 are 1/56th scale, to match in with the figures, so your 1/43rd models will be a lot bigger.

Thanks Dashetal, look forward to the Mini SCW Convention in August. Right now I'm working on an Alcazar table for Historicon and the ATACAD conventions.

I still love the Force of Arms sculpts, very animated like the Anglian sculpts and both mix well together imoho.

This is the Golden Age of our hobby.
