That's awesome. I love the muted colours everywhere.

Gunfreak10 May 2008 1:01 p.m. PST

wow just wow,

sadly I don't have my own gaming table so I can't realy put down a great looking table with lots of detail as I might have to clear the room in an hour.

hopefully with my own table I can realy get down and make some good terrain

but I doubt it will look even close to that

Fantastic work – I love the detail and colours. There is a very real feel to your terrain.

Thanks for sharing.

I really like your stuff – does the teddy bear fur lend itself to being cut out into field shapes and laid on another gaming mat?

Very impressive, Elmar.

Quadratus10 May 2008 3:57 p.m. PST

Very nice terrain. I aspire to have some good looking stuff of my own.

Collecting miniatures on a limited budget with limited time is an exercise in patience.

Thanks for the incentive to keep working

That's inspiring terrain! How did you apply the paint to the teddy bear fur?

P.S.: I see that you made your own masters for the wagons – are cast wagons available for sale?

Beautiful table, I don't believe I've ever seen a table like that!

Outstanding work!!

I'd love to see some text with the "fur terrain" page (it looks like you meant to put in a link…but it's not "active").

Here is the link to the Howto for the fur terrain on Elmar's web site:

One thing I would like to know (maybe a really basic question), but how are you applying the paint to the teddy bear fur? I saw the Howto when it was first posted, so had a go myself. Unfortunately, on my efforts the paint just "clumped" the fur together so that it looks ****! The fur in your pictures looks nice and fluffy. How do you achieve that effect?

btw/ please keep posting pictures of your terrain projects – they are really inspirational.

Hi to all and thank you for the nice comments.

The best way to paint the synthetic fur is with an airbrush. I used a fur with a middel broun color. The hardest part is to paint areas with lighter colors (the beige for the fields). I tried to do the coloring in many steps with only few color at a time and then give it time to dry. The more paint you use the more likely the fur will clump.

Shortly after I finished the fields my airbrush had a failfunction I couldn't cure. So I did most of the green coloring by hand with a brush. I drybrushed nearly all the gras. It is possible but very exhausting. It took about four hours and gave me a serious muscle ache. I don't think that you can achieve the effect on the fields with a brush.

Hi Gunfreak,
thank you for the refinement. I like the effect very much and want to use them on my homepage with your permission. Can you please tell me how to do this little digital wonders.
