So I purchased a box of Space Corridors from Litko and opened the box last night. Oh my. Very cool. But not nearly enough for me. So this morning I used AutoCAD to model a 4'x4' board and the product needed to fill said board with corridors and rooms. It's beautiful. But what to do with it? I don't have any good rules for using this project. Can someone point me toward a free set of rules that take advantage of space corridors? I want to be able to build my own units and such. |

I second the nomination for Space Hulk, but you could also use Combat Zone. Those rules would work just fine for corridor combat. |

Let's see, for your consideration (all free)
Aliens Corridor System – free rules to cover combat based upon the movie (don't recall the site – google the name). Bugged – available free from Germys site. Bugs – available free from Two Hour Wargames site. Chain Reaction 2 – free from Two Hour Wargames site (not specifically sci-fi though). Fast & Dirty – free rules, easily adaptable to fighting aboard spaceships. Frag Bug Hunt – a free variant to an existing game. I happen to have that link: link RAFM USX Rules (Universal Soldier Extreme – free from RAFMs site (designed for their minis, but adaptable to other minis and genres. Streetfight – free rules from foundry. Aimed at gang warfare, but probably adaptable to other genre as well. I know I missed a few. Or you could just stop fussing about, get Space Hulk, have the best rules for corridor battles you will ever find, and be done with it. Steve If you can't find the free rules, email me and I'll send them to you. Seattlered (at) aol (dot) com. |

There's an interesting set of rules about boarding actions from a guy who also has space combat games on his site. All of the (free) games fit into the same "universe". Sadly the names escape me. The boarding infantry were called Marines, which doesn't help matters. The
interesting thing about the rules was that they had quite restrictive ammunition rules. As you boarded an enemy ship you needed to bring up pallets of ammo clips, grenades and demolition charges to resupply your troops. On the other hand this meant you could go *through* walls rather than around them. I imagine it would make for a very interesting game! |

Another vote for Space Hulk. It's a simple game yet addictive thanks to the fast pace of play and tight rules. |

Does anyone have a link for the Streetfight rules? Wouldn't mind comparing them to the 'Gangland' rules I picked up last month

Streetfight rules are here (free PDF) from The War Store: link Add them to your cart and checkout, it will cost nothing. Also, Foundry showcased the rules as a pair of articles for Wargames Illustrated. That pair were (at one point) turned into PDFs for download from the foundry site. The download links can be found on this page: link Unfortunately, the Foundry "Free Rules" links are all broken. When you try them you get either Page Not Found errors, or a message that the page is currently undergoing construction (it has been saying that now for well over a year). If you want the PDFs email me and I'll send them to you. They have a different (nicer) magazine article layout and some color to them. There were also some differences in the rules (can't recall off the top of my head what those differences were). I also don't know if the articles came out before the one document you can get from The War Store, or after, so no telling which might be version 1 and which 2. Fun rules, based off the free Foundry rule set aimed at western skirmish gaming called The Rules With No Name (which are quite popular). Steve |

Steve, Cheers for that – much appreciated, I'll try the WarStore option first, then maybe mail you later. I vaguely remember the Rules With No Name – that was many many moons ago
