I finished "Gettysburg: An Alternative History" by Peter G Tsourasa last weekend and really enjoyed it. In much the same way as I enjoyed his "Disaster at D-Day". It appears not to be outragous in it changes – unlike say "Ship's of Iron and Wills of Steel" by Wade Dudly in "Dixie Victorious", also edited by Tsouras. I found this book superior to Gingrich and Forstchen series: "Gettysburg," (the best of the three), "Grant Comes East" and "Never Call Retreat". I suspect that the reason I like the Tsouras so much is because his changes are so small in comparison to Gingrich and Forstchen. I am, however, interested in some thoughts on this book. |

I only want to read alternate histories where Lee wins. This doesn't qualify. |

I have never understood the fascination of alternate history. Essentially, it's fiction. I find history to be much more compelling. |

Sorry , I posted what I realized would be spoilers for the folks who hadn't read the book. I found it to be exceptionl, assuming it is the one I am thinking of. One of the most overlooked possibilities in the war. |
