I'm pleased to announce that the demo rules pdf for WARDOGS! is now available on the MJXII Games Yahoo Group page.

Wardogs is a mecha-centric miniatures rule set capable of playing steampunk to far future. It can readily handle up to a dozen units per side, twice that if you want to spend a bit more time playing.

So heat 'em up…and good hunting!

Interested folks should look for the MJ12 group – not MJXII

Looks neat…

I would love to see a plotted move variant though…

I have never liked the initiative roll – alternate movement mechanic from Battletech…

My bad…on the name. Here's a link if needed.

Congratulations!

This has been a long time in development, and I played a lot of it last year. Very flexible design system and tactically challenging rules. Highly recommended from a CBT fan!

That link does not work.

Well nuts! Okay…try this one then.

Well, now. Been half-heartedly looking for a set of rules for a mecha game for some time – Free is my favorite flavor, and my simpleton mathematics does prefer a d10 system.

Time to scour Bartertown and eBay for some on-the-cheap stand-ins and give this game a go…

Where can the full rules be picked up? Are they out yet? Would they provide any capacity for space mecha gaming a la Gundam?

The full rules version has not been released yet. Yes, with a bit of tweaking you can do gundam style space gaming. They've been written to be as adaptable as possible…

So . . . Useful rules for Warmachine?

billthecat11 May 2008 11:17 a.m. PST

Looks great. Just one question-- This is a hex based game? Oh, and a second question-- are there rules for designing your own mechs…?

Go0gle11 May 2008 12:08 p.m. PST

Never played warmachine so i can't give you an informed answer.

It's written from the default of a hex-based mechanic but can be used without if desired.

Yes…there is an EXTENSIVE design section for mecha, armored vehicles, aircraft, naval landing vessels, buildings, and infantry. You may also design your own weapons. Those are included in the full rules which are about 80 pages…without the unit recognition section.
