I got two robots today at a comic/anime/gaming store. They were made of soft vinyl are minimally prepainted (two to four three colors usually), $15 USD a piece, and snap together. They have cannons and missle launchers for arms. They will be good for gaming I think. They are unusual in their designs, in that they all have large legs with a wide stance. Capcom sells them in "blind" boxes so you can;t tell which one you are getting and aparrently they have multiple color schemes too. They are the mecha from the old xbox video game Steel Batallion(Tekki) (It was an unusual console game in that it cost $250 USD and came with a huge custom controller with two joysticks, lots of switches and buttons and a set of pedals, and when your machine was destroyed and you failed to eject it deleted your character save and made you start at the beginning with nothing unlocked.) There are five different robots available. picture A Vitzh, Decider, Quasar, Jaralaccs N, and Jarallacs C. I got a Two-tone grey Jaralaccs C and a Black and yellow Quasar. Anyway they are a lot cheaper($15) and moderately less fragile than some AT-43 stuff (A recon strider like The Nakolvaney is $25 USD street price and $30 USD MSRP!) . And that's with the 50% unofficial "anime sin tax" that japanese collectable toy imports often get when they hit american retailers. I've seen some sold online in lots of ten for $7 USD apiece! |

Hmm, that's not too bad. About how tall are they? |

Ha, managed to look right past that bit. Only about half the size of what I'm looking for right now, but I may still have to pick a couple up. |

For slightly smaller figs, I got some of the ~2.5" Votoms at Anime Boston for $6 USD each. Snap together plastic with multi-coloured pieces. There's 5 in the set, and the boxes are numbered so you know which one your getting. At the con, the dealer only happened to have 4 of the 5 in the randomly packed carton they brought along. Grr. He said I could order the one I needed, but I didn't want to pay $7.50 USD shipping for a $6 USD toy. I'll just keep an eye out for the missing one when I can find it. Usually, if you buy a single online, they'll pick a random one out of the carton, but if you buy the set, they pick out all 5: link |

and when your machine was destroyed and you failed to eject it deleted your character save and made you start at the beginning with nothing unlocked That is the most awesome idea ever! I imagine it caused much whining, and may be why it wasn't more poular. Good find on the bots. |

Nice. I prefer my robots more pulp/retro though. link |

I got the last mecha on the right for about $3.00 USD a few years ago. I hacked it up for bitz and never got around to using them. |

The Copplestone power armor? I have five of them from 1997 or so (I think) but only enough arms for four of them. Sometimes I wonder how I managed that. :) |
