I quite like using foundry's 3 colour system, mainly because it saves so much time mixing shades and highlights.

Ive had such a nightmare painting my brits and fallschirmjagers etc. The Vallejo colours are good, very good in fact, but getting the shades has been hard work and im still not 100% happy with the results.

So, does anyone use foundry colours for WW2? Thinking maybe Drab for British Uniform, Granite or Storm Green for Fieldgrey? Maybe Rawhide for British webbing? Like to hear opinions on these colours and how effective they are, along with alternative colour suggestions.

For Germans in Field Grey I use Granite, Slate Grey, Stone and Storm Blue in various combinations so that the uniform, helmet and equipment are slightly different and stand out from each other. Storm Green seems to be good for the gas mask case. For Afrika Korps I use Base Sand, Buff Leather, Drab and Rawhide in combination. For late war camo use Storm Green, Bright Green, Bottle Green, Conker Red and Bay Brown although certain of the Vallejo paints are probably better for this.

I haven't painted any British yet but Drab and Rawhide should be good.

I think Tom Weiss uses Foundry paints, check out his site for inspiration.
