The new box of 28mm Imperial Romans from Warlord Games contains 30 multi-part, hard plastic figures. You can arm them with pilum or gladius and the box comes with extra helmets, pila, and shields. Also -- great idea here -- it contains superb full color waterslide shield transfers. $35 USD per box. Here at the shop in 2-3 weeks. OMM is running a 10% off special ($31.50 per box and FREE shipping) if you pre-order by May 30th and mention TMP.

This is an advert. Shouldn't it be in the Marketplace?

RavenscraftCybernetics08 May 2008 3:54 p.m. PST

probably but he is a supporting advertiser.
cudos there.

Grizwald09 May 2008 1:19 a.m. PST

"but he is a supporting advertiser."

Don't see why that should make any difference.

Dave Crowell09 May 2008 5:01 a.m. PST

Hmmm, Have to agree with Mike on this one.

If there had been an actual review of the figures rather than just a listing of the box contents and price that would have been better.

OMM give good service and the special price for TMP members is nice, and kudos for being a supporting advertiser, but still an advert disguised as a post, not so good.

I have no problem with it and am really happy they posted the announcement here. What's the big deal and why the Post Police attitude? Let Bill take care of it if he doesn't like or approve of it.

"What's the big deal and why the Post Police attitude?"

Clicked on the link expecting to find a review (since it was posted on the product review board) and all I got was an advert. Doesn't exactly endear me to Onmilitarymatters.com.

"Let Bill take care of it if he doesn't like or approve of it."

Bill can't be expected to read All the posts on all the boards.

Sounds like a good topic to bring up on Talk About TMP for discussion. To my surprise, there is nothing in the TMP FAQ on this. Marketplace defines itself as "…where TMP Supporting Members can buy and sell things" which sounds more like gamers selling things than companies.

I don't mind OMM announcing product for sale. per se. It was seeing the thread first on "Ancients product reviews" that lead me to expect a review rather than a commercial announcement. If I had seen it first on "Plastic figures" I probably would not have been taken aback at all.

Funny isn't it?

The news of waterslide transfers included is great. Somehow I had missed that bit.

Let's insist that every time a retailer gets in new stock, or a restock, of any item, in every genre, he post the fact on TMP. That should work out well.
