Yeah, this came up on another board a while back and I found it an interesting read. But where can we get young female Somalis with AK47's?? Or Zombie Pigeons? |

the first and second books were entertaining, but the 3rd I found unreadable. |

He had some neat concepts such as the Zombies that retained their intelligence but most of the books I found utterly ridiculous. Hey
sail me halfway around the globe because I know where they keep this big stock of anti-aids drugs at the UN????? I only read the first 2 (And that only because I bought them at the same time). |

I read the first part of book one and a little of part two (the first book is divided into three sections). I found most of it a bit ridiculous (yeah, halfway around the world on a ship without navigation satelites
yup, that's a good idea). There were a few decent ideas in it, but it just didn't hold together all that well for me. And the prose was a bit weak on description for my taste -- there were parts where I couldn't mentally picture what they were doing. Plus, it over used the classic beginner technique of using lots of short chapters to speed you through the action and multiple points of view. I wish them well with their venture, but I don't care enough about the characters to bother finishing it. |
