Dark Horse is going to reprint these stories from the Second World War era. Every cover looks like it is the Green Lama taking on the Axis. Does anyone know if that is actually the case with the stories? I love stories, like the Invaders, that are set within the Second World War and will buy the Green Lama book if that is the case. (A guy who cries "Aum Mani Padme Hum" whilst fighting Germans and Japanese seems to good to pass up. OTOH, if it is just another sleuth solving crimes in a big city, I'd not be as interested in the book, which is a pretty penny. |

The pulp reprints done by Adventure House make him look like a sleuth. Thus my question about the comics. |

You've probably already checked out the Wiki page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lama From Toonopedia: toonopedia.com/grnlama.htm From International Hero: link And, finally, from The Vintage Library, we get descriptions of some of the pulps and some of the comic covers: link Looks like he was primarily a crimefighter in the pulps, with occasional forays against spies. The comic covers feature more Nazis and planes, plus the one in which "The Green Lama Dive BombsJapan." So, yeah, the comics might feature more Nazi-bashing than the pulps. For confirmation, e-mail Dark Horse and ask. |

A lot of WW2-period comics had war-based covers with not a trace of it inside. If your comic shop will let you look through a copy before buying, that would be a useful precaution. |

I don't know. I'm actually more familiar with his brief radio show (I think I've listened to the entire series). In that show, he was definitely just a Shadow knock-off. But thanks for the tip -- I'll keep my eyes open for the comics. |
