In the pre Mutiney when there were still Indian states were there any colors that were considered special?
I know the Sikhs prefered orange and yellow but did the Hindu states have any special colors?

I've tried really hard to find the same information without results. The only thing that can be said for sure (and this isn't really hard and fast) is in very general terms Orange/Saffron/Yellow for Hindus and green for mohamedians. Sorry but there is nothing really more definate anywhere that I have seen. Period descriptions offer very little in the way of descriptions either.

Hope that is of some help.
