Bum. Just got back from the Battlefield, got some photos of Meade's HQ and the building next door, but made the mistake of not having any dimensions. Anyone know what the dimensions of these buildings are or know any websites with this info? |

There is a book that I cannot recall the title of, that contains dozens of pictures taken in and around the battlefield just after the battle and the war (1863-1870ish) period. Should be able to help you out if you can lay your hands on it. Otherwise, just Google pictures and you should find plenty on the net. Dan |

Don't know of any book that states dimensions of the buildings. I would guess it's about 16 feet long by 10 feet wide. I live in Gettysburg, but haven't been to Meade's HQ lately, so it is just a guess. It's a very small farm house. The barn is smaller than most others, also. I made a copy of the Lydia Leister barn in 10mm resin. Lydia Leister lived in the house which became Meades HQ. You can see the barn on my website: roundtopminiatures.com |

IIRC, some of the dimensions were mapped by the Library of Congress and can be found (with schematics) on their website by searching for Gettysburg and wading through the entries. They have several houses and barns there, although perhaps not the Leister house. |

Scott, Wow -that is exactly what I wanted! Not only do they have the Leister House & barn, but numerous other buildings I wanted details of. On the subject, does anyone know the reason behind the similarity between the Leister & Bryan houses and barns – especially the cut out section of barn? |
