I started thumbing through this month's Model Railroader and found that it had good articles on:

Weathering and mudding-up vehicles
Kitbashing plastic buildings
Several good scenery articles including one where a guy used a mirror to "extend" the wilderness on the edge of his layout.

And naturally if you are into 20mm-1/72 or 10mm/N-scale then you will find lots of good info as well.

The article on modelling the San Berdoo yards was of great local interest. Nice technique for making coconut palms, as well.
