Does anyone make any recessed bases, either metal or plastic?

I have some old figures I want to rebase but they are cast to integral bases. Rather than try to separate the figure & existing base I wondered if there was a base that allowed you to drop them into a recess then fill the gaps. Similar in design to Battletech bases..

Ideally I'd want 20mm or 25mm square bases

A bit expensive, but Eureka does 25mm square ones:

We make 25mm square resin bases with recesses in them.

Here's the link to the relevant item on our website:

Hope this helps.

I got a server error from your link, Simon. Is this any better?

I know the Warmachine line uses recess bases. I had purchased a few of the larger ones for my Terminators and special characters.

PapaSync: yes I'd seen those (and used them before) but I believe they are only round & not square?

aecurtis: the Eureka ones look good but unfortunately it looks like Fighting15s in the UK don't carry them

scbday: your resin ones look like they could do the job. How deep are the recesses in the bases?

If you contact Fighting15s they might be able to get the Eureka bases in for you. Alternatively, I've ordered direct from Eureka to the UK before without any problems.

See Litko bases that allow you to do just what you want after gluing a tiny magnet to the bottom of the base.

Gherkin – The recesses are 1.5 to 2mm deep.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of bases with recesses suitable to the 6mm lines like GHQ? It would be just the thing for me…ideally about 25mm or 1 inch square with square/rectangular recesses for 4 or 5 figs similar to the old epic space marine plastic stands. In a perfect world, they'd be available in square for squads/platoons, and round for command, maybe recanggles for support weapons. I can hope, can I not?
