While innocently reading through the site "Tabletop Gaming News", I stumbled across mention of an Epic:Armageddon Tournament (Baltimore). Being a gamer who loves Epic:A, I read on and was intrigued to find army lists mentioned for armies I had no idea existed. Legal Army Lists All Official Epic Army Lists from the Specialist Games website will be allowed along with the following: Scions of Iron 1.3.2 Death Korps of Krieg Minervan Armored Legion (Epic: Raiders) Eldar (Ulthwe' 3.2) Eldar (Iyanden 3.2) Eldar (Saim-Hann 6.1) Eldar (Alaitoc 2.1) Dark Eldar (Epic: Raiders) OGBM v1.6 Necron (Epic: Raiders) Tau 4.4.2 Tyranids OK, so has anyone ever heard of the Scions of Iron 1.3.2, Minervan Armoured Legion, or OGBM? I haven't. And what is "Epic:Raiders"??? I've decided to start solo gaming E:A, and perhaps this would be a good time to build up one or more of the above. Where could I get lists for these? Thanks. |

OGBM is Orkimede's Gargant Big Mob, available from the Vault at the Specialist Games site. Other lists are available from Tactical Command, and will be submitted to the Vault once final versions are decided. If you're serious about Epic, you need to be here: link Regards, Michael Lovejoy |

I recognise most of those as army lists available as official on the Specialist Games site. I downloaded any list that they had about 2 weeks ago and the only two that don't leap out at me are the Scions of Iron and the Minerva one – they might be in the experimental section or from another source or I may have forgotten them. Hmm Id have to check the version numbers to see if they are more recent than the ones I DLed. |

Scions of Iron are a vehicle-heavy Space Marine list. I think sll of these are available as free PDF downloads from the GW Specialist Games site. |

Yes I also was wondering about the Minervan Armored Legion (Epic: Raiders). |

Hi. As some interesting background, this tournament has a strange history, which you can see here: link Most of the lists mentioned have been in the works for a while, so there should be no problems with them. The Scions of Iron are the winner of the SG 'write an Epic force list' competition, and are an armour based Marine force. The Minervan list is a fan IG regiment which has received some playtesting. OGBM is, as mentioned, Orkamedies Gargant Big Mob, and is available from the SG site. Epic: Raiders is something that will be available very shortly. Having just seen it myself, I can confirm that it is an excellent, fan based suppliment – covering Dark Eldar and Necrons primarily. If it helps, there is a Wiki page devoted to all lists available for Epic here: link Also, the Tactical Command/EpiComms boards have a great community for Epic, developing lists and showcasing some truly excellent models: link Epic: Raiders will be announced here very shortly. I hope that this helps. Iain |

Ummm
Any new minis for any of these (Specifically the DCoK?)??? |

Take a look at the Siege of Mossino supplment (another fan's work that was put out earlier this year) PDF link There's a good section on how to make Death Korp troopers and other great conversions. If you can get in touch with the author (he goes by "Evil and Chaos" on TacComms) he might be able to hook you up with some of the stuff he's sculpted as well. |

I have been harassing Forgeworld to do some of the Elysian Drop troops and DCoK troops for epic for some time
And, to do all of the heavy weapons sets as Epic scale troops. I have been tempted to try to raise the money to pay for their creation myself. I know that it has been done before for other minis
If you were to set up a link on the various epic sites that allowed players to "Pre-Order" a set, and that money would go toward the cost of the sculpting and casting
That usually will get stuff made pretty quickly. I know that I would be willing to pitch in about $250 USD a peice for the Elysians, DCoK, and the various Heavy Weapons teams (You could do the weapons separately, then have a crew for the various types of troops: Cadians, Elysians, DCoK, Valhallans, etc
) |

Ummm . . . The Industrial Troopers from Dark Realm would work for Krieg troops, wouldn't they? Costly as heck but then we are talking about Epic so that sort of is a given. |

Thanks, but no, Judas
I don't think anyone in their right mind would get involved in a mini's casting project with someone who openly and enthusiastically promotes recasting.
but there might be someone from the Nigerian Oil Ministry who would be willing to help. Guiscard |

Shows how much you know
Many people already are, and I am and have been employed by several companies who produce miniatures, and have done so since 1979 (Beginning with Heritage USA). None of them have any fear of me doing anything illegal, nor do I promote "recasting" by your definition (at least the common accepted definition I have seen ignorantly bandied around here). If you had actually bothered to read my posts, you would know that
CW
I had a look at the Industrial Troopers from Dark Realm, but they have that weird head covering instead of the DCoK helmet, and they are too covered up for the most part (not to mention not being of the level of detail I would expect from Forgeworld) All of the Dark Realm stuff is pretty cool
But, I tend to place them in a second tier of quality. I have quite a few of them, and play with them, but I don't put the effort into them like I do some of the higher quality minis. |

Ooops
I also forgot to mention. I don't want any of the Epic minis to play Epic with. Not a big fan of 40K. I want them to use for a lot of other Sci-Fi that I do that is considerably harder sci-fi than 40K
As such, only a proper and high quality product would do, and not a simple conversion of Valhallans or the regular IG minis
I also am not too concerned with many of the 40K vehicles. I have some of the FW vehicles – paid a freaking fortune for them too
Probably over $500 USD of Tau and IG stuff (Gee Guscard
What was that again??? Sheesh), but they are all the more conventional looking vehicles (The IG stuff is only the weapon emplacements and a few of the aircraft – although I have done a little bit of modding on the fighters)
Which is why I would need to either have a professional at FW do them, or knock something off of my schedule and do them myself
The latter probably not going to happen considering my school and work load now. |

..or knock something off of my schedule and do them myself
I think you meant to write
"
or knock something off..and do them myself" Yuk Yuk, I crack myself up. |
