Crusader added some new figures to their Rank and File Ancients line: early imperial Romans, middle imperial Romans, and Persian sparabaras. link link I put in an order for the EIR legionaries today. They look great on the website, and now I'll see how they look in the flesh. |

They do look good; I shall order some, when they appear on the UK site. The Roman Command packs will be invaluable with my Saleh legionaries, who have always lacked sufficient Centurions. We need some Persian archers to go with the Sparabara boys

These are great. I will be ordering the Roman command too. |

I am really liking those Persians. I'm a huge Simms fan (not just because he put a little picture of my Punic veterans in his last supplement). I would love to see this Persian line expanded- archers, Immortals. dave |

Would those be: - Immortals as they would have actually appeared in battle? (Those would be useful). - Immortals in Persepolis palace robes? (Plenty of those available, from rather good to dire.) - Kabuki theater Immortals, a la "300"? (Thanks, don't need any

Allen- The first choice, or A. As far as C goes, I agree. No war rhinos or Babylonian battle-trolls either. Kinda off-topic, but I heard a rumor you might be attending Historicon this year? Any truth to that? Dave |

They look great. I hope they do more Persians and Gauls for Punic Wars range. Hi Dave 1138 long time no hear from? Mike Adams |

"Kinda off-topic, but I heard a rumor you might be attending Historicon this year? Any truth to that?" Good grief! Who would say such a thing? Not unless we happen to be moving this summer, and I get an RV to do the cross-country move, and there's still space in the Amish Wonderland RV park across the way. In other words, not very darned likely! Allen |

Is there really such a thing as an "Amish Wonderland RV park?" I'm hoping that's more hyperbole than an actual location. Well, sorry to hear you're not coming. At least the author of my second favorite WAB supplement will be there
Mike Adams- shoot me a PM or email. To get back on target- I know Mark Sims considers the Persian sculpts to be "easier" so hopefully we will see many more variations. I would love a full-blown range of Crusader Persians, from Egyptian Marines to Babylonians. can that happen? DP |

I would also like a "full blown" range of Persians by Mark. You can NEVER have enough Persians! |

Dave, it's actually the Old Mill Stream Campground, but it is right next door to the Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park, right acrows Hwy. 30 from the Lancaster Host. As a fallback, there is another large RV campground in Intercourse. Allen |

Looks like the romans are a single pose with no head variant. Is that right? |
BigRedBat | 09 May 2008 9:50 a.m. PST |
Yes only one so far, but Mark has promised a helmet variant, later on, along with some other Roman figures. Simon |
| idontbelieveit | 09 May 2008 10:47 a.m. PST |
That's good. As 1 pose no variants doesn't really cut it in 2008. Not sure it passed muster in 1998 either now that I think about it. |

I'm not one to look a gift Roman in the mouth! My first EIR Legion essentially consists of 2 different Steve Saleh miniature designs, so this new mini potentially represents a 50% increase in variety! ;-) Simon |
