I got some 28mm BAM WW2 German Heer troops not long ago, and one of my riflemen appears to have 2 modern looking frag grenades on his right side, below his cartridge belt. What exactly are they, and what color should they be painted? Thanks! |

Never mind. I googled it, and it seems that they are M39 "egg" hand grenades. First time I've seen them. Hmm

I was thinking more along the lines of VP 914- Green Ochre. I found it interesting, just because with all of the WW2 reference books I have, I've not seen, nor heard, of that particular grenade before. |

The Egg was pretty rare TBH, Steilhandgranate was the normal issue AFAIK |
