Is this well-known minis company a set of intials or a word? I've always assumed it was a set of initials, but, then again, I used to think that about Ertl until I learned it was somebody's name.

And if it is a set of initials, what does RAFM stand for?

Your sops to my curiosity would be most welcome.

From what I read, Rank and File Miniatures, hence RaFM.

RAFM, and it does not stand for Rank and file miniatures.

I thought it was Rank And File Miniatures. Apparently I was wrong.

Rabbits And Frog Meat?

A long time ago I asked John Laing what RAFM sood for. He laughed an evil laugh and said,"That's a long story…" I never did find out for sure.

I suspect it is Renaissance And ?? Medievals? Not sure what the F was for? Rob.

Rafm/RAFM isn't short for Rank & File Minis? Guess that was an urban myth, then.

My favorite goofy name in the game industry was (or maybe is) a company called BR Snasis Games:

Not a guy's name, but what always happened to the player characters in their roleplaying campaigns – Beaten, Robbed, Stripped Naked And Sold Into Slavery.

Weird, but memorable.

It stands for Reorganized Agrarian Feudalistic Movement. Really, I'm not kidding.

Royal American Figure Manufactory. At least that's what Jack van Schaick, the proprietor told me about 30 years ago.

vdal 1812 is correct. The company started in Cambridge, Ontario a small city near Toronto in Ontario. I bought figures from them back in the 1970's

Salutations, gentlefolk,

I had occasion to call them a few years back. The young lady answered the phone with "Raff'm! Good afternoon."

Yours, John
