I haven't posted much new painting on "Tarleton's Quarter" of late, so thought I'd mention that up now are pictures of the Royal Highland Emigrants, using Perry figures in full plaid (perfect for Quebec, but not so perfect for Eutaw
) link Militia and some ACW Rebs coming shortly. Giles |

Outstanding as usual. Are you painting generic militia units? |

Thanks, chaps. Doc, basically yes, although I always like to give my units a name, or at least some kind of state affiliation. I am painting the new Perry militia figures and have finished a firing-line unit that mixes hunting shirts and the new Southern militia types. I can't quite decide what flag to give it – either the 8th Virginia one or a generic South Carloina flag. |

I never let the kilts get in the way of using my version of the 84th in any battle. They are a fun unit to have in the army. |

Excellent. Is that 4 figures to a base on those? |

My milita units are a mixture of Battle Honor hunting shirts with Foundry minute men & uniformed militia with Perry & Foundry command. I use generic flags with a color code on the back of the stand to tell the units apart. I may have to paint a couple of "guard" militia units that will be all Perry. |

Great Giles. Love your blog. An inspiration to my budding AWI collection. Some good links in there too. Just spent a while at Angus Konstam's site as a result. |
