Hi guys

anyone playing these rules(1859)
if so what do you think?
they seem fairly straightforward to me
any comments gratefully received
thanks

Like their companion volume '1870', I bought these for the maps and OBs. I don't care for the rules themselves, too fiddly to use for the enormous battles being represented unless you have more time to spare than I do.

They are worth buying just for the historical information contained in them though.

Don't have 1859 (yet) but agree with Martin about the 1870 rules. Maps, scenarios, OBs and loads of data that make playing the period so much easier, even if you never try thr rules. I'll buy the 1859 rules for that, based on the author's record with the first rule book.

I agree with Martin. Great stuff in the book but not a fan of the rules.

Thanks,

John
