No. TMP's software doesn't allow for e-mail notifications and things that toddle off the frontpage tend to just be immediately ignored for the most part. Within those limitations then the trend should be towards less sub forums as those of us who are not 'only' interested in some small subset of a subset have less forums to open and check for new posts then. As someone else mentioned it's easy enough to self moderate and put the scale in the subject header – much 'much' easier to use the search function then too as it tends to die if searching through whole posts but is fine with a subject header search. |

"Example – should mechanics of Flames of War rules be discussed on a 15mm board or a general WWII board?"--that would be the WWII Rules board. Precisely, but that sometimes happened, but often times was posted on the 15mm board (this time last year, we were preparing to try FOW in 1;72, never did the guy who had the rules moved). We didn't need fewer boards, just another WWII moderator to put the posts in the correct sub-board, change topic spelling, etc
the real easy stuff. And that's where my blathering about data management comes in. If you have someone constantly patrolling this and it's picked up immediately, then the scale boards are fine. However, the moderator is Bill and he's usually up to his neck in alligators; much too busy to be doing this. And in real life, I've never ever done work for an organization that had the monetary luxury of having staff spend full time checking to make sure choices made in database records where there are many users making entries for correctness of choices. Cursory checks from time to time, but full time enforcement, never. This is why the fewer choices there are, the better the integrity of the data. -- Tim |

I prefered the scale boards. I don't game outside 15mm, so knowing that at least the majority of posts in the forum were going to be of interest was good. |

Bring them back. Plus create a WW2 Land Products Review Board. |

Strongly support the return of the scale boards. I have lurked here for a good five years until I was encouraged to sign up by the "boys" here so that we could have a present deputation. I read these boards and then presented the info to the group not quite religiously, but regularly. Those scale boards were incredibly useful. If I had known there was a poll to get rid of them, I would have signed up sooner to vote in support of the boards. When a poll that will affect a certain area goes into existence, IMO, the moderator should notify that area there is such a poll and provide a link directly to it. Changing this board without the imput of a significant portion of the persons directly involved is irresponsible on the part of the controller IMO. |

Yes and no. A review board sud-section might make it easier for us manufacturers to see who's interested in what

A suggestion. I was looking at the Medieval boards on the suggestion of another TMPer what would it take to set the WWII land boards that way or would that cause another rousing chorus of Nays
