I recently got a good price on some Harlequins, and may be getting some more. Which isn't the point of this post, I jsut thought I'd mention it. No, what I was thinking was that I hope to use them for more than just unique gangers in GoMC1, and started thinking about opponents for them. Noise Marines seemed a good choice, and what better weapon for evil heavy metal galactic jarheads than that most evil of all instruments, the keytaur. So I just thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions on how to model them, just in case I ever actually go through with this project. |

Some of the Shadowrun/Cyberpunk Rockers and Deckers made by Grenadier, Ral Partha, and other companies over the years were equipped with keyboards that could be converted easily into keytaurs. Let's see . . . Grenadier Cyberpunk pack 3403, Rockers: picture Grenadier Shadowrun pack 1301, Archetypes (as I recall, that's a keytaur slung on the girl's back): picture Grenadier Shadowrun pack 1314, Deckers: picture Grenadier Shadowrun pack 9701, Shadowrunners, includes a decker with a keyboard: picture Ral Partha Shadowrun pack 20-501, Deckers: picture Ral Partha Shadowrun pack 20-505, Elves, includes a decker with a small hand-keyboard: picture Ral Partha Shadowrun pack 20-508, Riggers and Rockers: link Ral Partha Shadowrun pack 20-572, Elven Deckers: picture Reaper does 3098, a great Werner Klocke Female Chronicler with Guitar: link and 3080, Female Bard with Flute: link There was a thread last month on TMP listing Elvis clones, both sci-fi and fantasy. You might be able to use one or more of those: TMP link Needless to say, there are lots of other fantasy bards with lutes, harps, and other stringed instruments, but these are the ones I know of with guitars, keytaurs, or keyboards (and one flute). |

I'd take a big two handed ax, and convert it into a electric guitar on at least one. Even if it is just slung over a shoulder. LLC aka Ron |

Thanks for the links, jpattern. I'm thinking I may try to make something like this my first actual attempt at a sculpting project since a keytaur/keytar is a fairly simple shape. I doubt I can get all the little fiddly details in, but should at least be able to do the body and something that gives the impression of keys. I'd also like to do a set of drums, possibly involving severed heads in some way, and maybe incorporated into some kind of tank, but that's probably getting a little too ambitious. |
