Howdy Gents,

Does anyone have a definitive battalion level OOB for Auerstaedt? I could sure use it if you would be so kind as to drop it in my e-mail.

Thanks,
Tom

I have it for the French but not the Prussians. Do you need raw troop numbers or does a 1:60 figure to man ratio work?

Cheers,

The Bandit

Well, I don't really need it for the French. I have theirs. What I need is the names of the specific battalions and regiments of the Prussian Army, and the Korps and Divisions to which they were assigned, along with the officers commanding the Divisions and Korps and their Aide de Camps and/or Chiefs of Staff.

Raw numbers I don't need. Just the names of the units and their structural assignment on an OOB chart.

Thanks much, I checked them out. I knew of that site but wasn't impressed with the scholarship of the information. However, some of the links that they provided did give me some good uniform pictures which one never has enough of as reference material.

Again, Thanks Much,
Tom

Two books may be of help, both by Digby Smith

1-73160 The Prussian Army To 1815

The Prussian Army has an OOB for Auerstadt (and Jena too) in the Appendix with the organization of the army. It lists names down to Brigade officers, plus the Regt names (with the number of Bttns in each Regt), plus raw numbers, guns, etc. Other major battles OOB are included. Most of the book dedicated to short regimental histories, uniforms, etc.

and

3-51480 Napoleonic Wars Data Book

NWDB is just OOB info of battle after battle 1792-1815 with occasional paragraph of commentary. For Auerstadt, same info in condensed format. Obviously more for numbers oriented needs, not explanations.

Details:

3-51480 Smith, Digby aka Otto von Pivka NAPOLEONIC WARS DATA BOOK as above1 vol, 600 pgs 1998 LONDON, GREENHILL BOOKS V.GOOD-dj…$45.00

I'm painting my 1806 AB Prussians right now

80 – 32 Fig Musketeer Btns
15 – 32 fig Fusilier Btns
20 something Grenadier Btns

And all the Cavalry Regts even them that were not at Jena
Cuirassiers and Dragoons 40 figs each

and Hussars at 60 Figs each

I will have some pictures some of the complete units if anyone is interested

GeorgethePug,

How long is it taking to paint 4,000 plus figures? When did you start and how far along are you?

I've been painting Napy's 1806 army for the last couple years. I have the Guard, III Corps, VI Corps, and most of the Cavalry Reserve largely completed. About 1,100 figures right now (1:60) all in 15mm.

I'd love to see some photos of the Prussians. What scale, rules, and basing are you using?

Cheers,

The Bandit
