Hi, I'm just painting up a unit of 14th Light Dragoons in the Tarleton hat. I've looked through all my uniform guides and I cannot find what colour the waist barrel sash is. Most pictures I've seen have a red and yellow one though I did find an obscure reference (somewhere) to the 14th wearing an orange and blue barrel sash. I've painted mine like thus so. Anyone help? |

The Thin Red Line by D.S.V & B.K. Foston has an illustration of a 14th Light Dragoons Trooper with orange and blue girdle, but that's in the post 1812 uniform. |

They received their orange distinctions in 1798 upon becoming the Duchess of York's Own, herself being a Hohenzollern. So I would say from then on blue and orange would be right. |

Gents, many thanks for your input. It looks like they will remain in their blue and orange sash. |
