I need to paint up some generals/commanders for my Late Roman army. Would anyone happen to know where I could find an illustration to use as a painting guide? |

The final book of the Osprey series on Roman Uniforms would probably do it, but the pics in it aren't online: link Simon |

The Osprey Campaign book on Adrianople has a lot of good pictures and some good names for generals. I used some of the Foundry personalities from the Early Imperial Rome range as the more senior commanders in my Late Roman army. My thinking was that these types would have more money to spend on uniforms and were likely to be influenced by the more ornate and classical styles of the earlier period. |

I once had a Roman army where all my generals were "late"! Sorry; could not resist! - Greg |
