Oh boy! What a special OG has this month. I need some advice as I plan my purchase. I am definitely going to scarf up a stockade and some more buildings. Where I need help is in the miniature arena.

Most of my the minis I use for my old west game come from Artizan, Knuckleduster, Crusader, Blue Moon, EM-4, Foundry, Conquest, Pulp Miniatures, Shadowforge, ERTL livestock, etc. (i.e. I have a pretty broad range in terms of miniature sizes and they all look fine on the table once I base them).

I don't have any of the Old Glory Warpaint or Cowboy Wars minis. I was thinking about picking up the Tombstone set, Wagon Train Settlers, some US cavalry troops, and the wagons from the Warpaint series and some of the foot/mounted pairs from the Cowboy Wars series.

What I wondered is how these OG match scale-wise with my current cowpokes. By the way, I base everyone on a 22mm washer and don't mind raising them up a mm or two if they are a little short.

Thanks,

Lost Pict

Ya got everyone else, why not OG. OG has some nice figures, especially in the Cowboy Wars range. I mix and match from all sources, OG, Foundry, Knuckleduster, Artizan, etc.

The Warpaint stuff is a little smaller than the Cowboy Wars stuff, but should be ok. I really like the Cowboy Wars stuff. I too am thinking about some Old Glory western purchases.

Ditto on what everyone else said. What you'll find is that the Artizan and Blue Moon are larger but mounting the Warpaint & Cowboy Wars figs on a thick washer should do the trick. They'll just have to use nicknames like "Chunk" and "Slim" when they meet on your model town's streets!

;-)

One of the really great features of the Cowboy Wars range is that each pair of figures in the package comes in a mounted and dis-mounted pose. It definitely comes in handy if your rules allow for mounting and dis-mounting.
