Hey all,

A friend of mine is researching this battle and is looking for some resources for it. All that we found on the web was the same article repeated on different sites. Are there any books or other readily available resourses available that give details of the battle that you would recommend? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Regards, Bill

There's always the Official Records.

Looks like you want Volume XIX – in Two Parts. 1887. (Vol. 19, Chap. 31)

Another option is to contact the US Army Military History Institute in Carlisle, PA. They maintain extensive collections of books, articles, letters, and dairies, as well as the other major source you should consult – the regimental histories for the specific regiments and batteries involved at Day's Gap. Note that not all units left behind accounts or histories.
